South Beach, and Ocean Drive in particular, should be at the top of your “places to see” list. When it comes to shopping in South Beach, Collins Avenue, Lincoln Road and the Bal Harbour Shops are where the top designer boutiques can be found. It’s clearly no surprise why so many A-list celebrities are coming to Miami Beach from Los Angeles!
Shopping on Collins Avenue
When you’ve spent a little too much time in the sun, that’s the perfect cue for you to pack up shop and head for some much needed shopping on Collins Avenue. With some of the worlds most prestigious designers – such as Nicole Miller, Armani and Kenneth Cole – housing flagship boutiques on Collins Ave., satisfying your fashion cravings should be quite easy; with a few swipes of the credit card of course.
If shoes and makeup are more of your thing, then you’ll be pleased to know that Giroux and Sephora both have Collins Avenue locations to keep your accessories and feet moving forward.
Shopping on Lincoln Road
Also known to some as the “Fifth Avenue of the South”, Lincoln Road has been at the center of the South Beach spotlight since the 1930’s. While making your way onto Lincoln Road today, it won’t take long for you to become overtaken by the sweet fragrances, off-beat boutiques and celebrity-lined runway collections. Though some big shot brands reside across Lincoln, it has definitely evolved over the years – making way for a more locally charged community filled with artists and creatives alike. If unique is what you seek, be sure to stop by Agora, Ricky’s and the Howard Austin Feld Gallery.
Shopping at Bal Harbour Shops
By far, one of the most exuberant and luxurious places to spend money while in South Beach is at the Bal Harbour Shops – located at 9700 Collins Avenue. It’s quite common to become bored with the sometimes monotonous tone of South Beach shopping, especially if you’ve been before. The Bal Harbour Shops is a stunning experience; set in an open air, pseudo-marketplace with cascading waterfalls and tropical foliage. Note: be sure to bring your camera.
Bal Harbour hosts some of the world’s most renowned designers and retail Mafioso like Versace, Armani, Gucci, Christian Dior, Bvlgari, Fendi and Dolce & Gabbana.
