If you want to experience Ocean Drive’s Art Deco architecture firsthand, we recommend beginning you tour at the southern-most tip of Miami Beach on Ocean Drive and walking north toward 15th Street. The hotels and other structures along this route date from the 1920s to the 1940s, with the vast majority being built between 1938 and 1940.
Below is a collection of Art Deco photographs that will give you an idea of what you’ll see and what to look for along the route.
Also, we highly recommend taking the Miami Design Preservation League’s official Art Deco Walking Tour which will provide you with an excellent introduction to the Art Deco District conducted by expert guides who will show you not only the exteriors, but also the interiors of many beautiful buildings.
